The Blackbramble

How fitting that we were learning about Fruit growing in the Master Gardeners Class today.
I had to come home and raise a glass to the class.
Of course I had to use one of the Brambles - I chose Black Raspberry
Did you know that Raspberries come in Red, Yellow, Black and Purple(latin - Rubus neglectus, which I guess that means the purple are neglected. I have never seen them have you?)?
Well not to bore you with my studies, onto the Drink:

Blackbramble
2 shots citron vodka
1 shot plain vodka
1 shot simple syrup
2 shots Black Raspberry Juice (from Trader Joes)

Mix together and pour over ice in two rock glasses evenly(come on there is enough for 2 here don't be greedy) Should still be room for the soda and lime...
Pour club soda into each glass (if you can't guess use 2 shots)
Squeeze a slice of lime into each glass and drop in.
Give it a stir and taste, adjust the club soda if need be!

I thought this was a perfect drink to end the day with dreamings of planting berries in my garden in the spring.

Enjoy!

PS. I forgot to mention,  I paired the drink with chocolate chips and that fabulous crystallized ginger - which I did eat straight out of the bag.

Peach Vodka Martini

Cocktail of the Night. My husband usually makes the best drinks but I have to say I think the one I made tonight is Fantastic.
3 oz organic vodka,
1 oz Peach Shnappes, little less than 1 oz Triple Sec.
Shake with ice, pour into a martini glass add a twist of lemon and YUM! What's your Fave?

Ginger Peach Martini

A Gracious 2 oz Ginger Skyy Vodka,
1/2 oz peach Schnapps,
1 light oz Triple Sec and a splash of lemon juice.
Shake with Ice until your hand is stuck frozen to the metal shaker.
Pour over a piece of crystallized ginger in a martini glass.

Lemongrass Tea Vodka Martini

Tea Forte makes Cocktail infusers.
I used 1 Lemongrass Mint infuser (looks like their tea triangles) soak in 4 oz ginger vodka - for 2-4 minutes.
Shake this (without the tea bag) with ice and
1 oz clarified key lime cocktail juice (by stirrings at Giant Eagle) and two slices of lime squeezed.
Shake, pour over c...rystallized ginger slices in a martini glass.

Maple Lemonade Martini

Maple Lemonade Martini
Lemonade mix:
80z filtered water, 2 TBSP fresh Lemon juice, 2 TBSP Maple Syrup
The Drink:
2-3 shots vodka (I use 360 eco friendly vodka)
...2 shots lemonade mix
Shake with Ice and pour
I just bought natural candied ginger at the health food store in Peters and I my goodness I am addicted! I like them in my martini glass but I have been eating them straight out of the bag!

A new Blog all about Drinks!

Since I have the blog cooking with dogs that is mostly about cooking I thought I would create this companion blog for the drinkers among us!
My husband and I enjoy creating and making new drinks and we like to share those that we create and those that we find yummy!
